OPEN GRANT PROGRAM (1 € = 30,126 SKK)
In 2008 we supported 39 projects in total sum of 328 800 SKK / € 10.914, out of which 20 projects amounting to 175 000 SKK / € 5.809 were in Pezinok.
In the 12 years of existence of the organization we supported 692 projects in total sum of 6 157 790 SKK / € 204.440,out of which 399 projects in total sum of 3 599 240 SKK / € 119.473 in Pezinok, and 293 projects in total sum of 2 558 550 SKK / € 84.928 in other towns and villages.
• PROJECTS ACCORDING TO DONOR INTENT
We allocated 2 927 742 SKK / € 97.183 to purpose-bound projects according to donors’ wishes in 2008. During our 12-year existence we fulfilled donors’ wishes by allocating 12 349 711 SKK / € 409.935 in total.
• PROJECTS TO ENCOURAGE DONORSHIP
The 2% of taxes of individuals and legal entities campaign.
In 2008 the foundation received the sum of 6 276 068 SKK / € 208.327 from 2% of taxes. We will have made use of it by the end of 2009. The sum of 1 674 289 SKK / € 55.576 gained from 2% of taxes in 2007 were made use of for three different purposes: volunteer projects of inhabitants in the open grant round, projects according to donors’ intentions, and institutional securing of the organization.
During the 7 year time of assignation of % of taxes we obtained the total amount of 12 183 033 SKK / € 404.403.
The Club of Donors project
The project encourages individual donations of the region’s inhabitants in partnership with Orange Account Foundation. Thanks to 174 donors and supporters especially from the Club of Entrepreneurs of the City of Pezinok and the received sum of 98 110 SKK / € 3.257, and with a contribution from the foundation, we supported 18 projects that would help to preserve the region’s folk customs and history, and would support sport, cultural, educational and creative activities of its inhabitants.
During the 5 year existence 78 projects amounting to 750 464 SKK / € 24.911 were supported.
Open Your Heart, Give a Book project
In 2008, anonymous donors donated books in the sum of 29 654 SKK / € 984 through REVIA foundation to 134 children from socially disadvantaged families who are registered at the department of social services and attend 10 elementary schools in the region and those in children’s home in Trnava.
In three Christmas seasons donors bought books for 77 492 SKK / € 2.572 and delighted 376 children.
The project Challenge
The three year project is aimed at building up the foundation’s endowment from the local financial resources not exceeding US$ 50 000. Contributions obtained in the second year were multiplied by the equal sum from Wings – Global Fund for Community Foundations and they will help the long-term running of the organization.
• PROJECTS OF INTERSECTOR COOPERATION
Managing of the foundation’s funds
The foundation manages several funds – endowment funds contributing to the property of the foundation to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization, funds related to special purposes which are determined by donors themselves, and combined funds. Functioning of the funds is effective as consolidation of donations can help to the more proper realisation of a particular goal, purpose or need.
Valentine’s Day Benefit Concert ... From Heart To Heart...
The concert was realized in partnership with the GALAN Centre (Furniture and Accessories) in Bratislava. The proceeds of 25 770 SKK / € 855 were passed on to the foundation‘s Fund for the Artists of the Region, from which young talented artists were supported, by the first lady of The Slovak Republic Silvia Gašparovicova.
7 artists and 4 elementary schools of arts received the sum of 32 000 SKK / € 1.062 from the Fund for Artists of the Region.
Cooperation with local governments
Multilaterally advantageous partnership brought about benefits to all sides involved as preference is given to projects dealing with problems and needs of the region’s inhabitants and those improving the quality of their lives.
Since 2000 REVIA cooperates with 20 municipalities of the region.
The EU project Muses Join Us
The project was aimed at improving the quality of organization of festivals and various activities in the city of Pezinok under a single marketing presentation as „Infofest“. It was realized in partnership with the City of Pezinok, Civil Society Association P.R.D. and Information Centre in Neusiedl am See, and with the support from the Community Initiative Interreg IIIA Slovakia – Austria.
The outcome of the project was a shared stall of cities that are in partnership with the city of Pezinok at the tourist industry fair Slovakiatour 2008 in Bratislava and a brochure called TOP Events / TOP Veranstelltugen Pezinok, Neusiedl am See.
For a Cleaner Saulak project
230 youth volunteers and 10 teachers cleaned up the river-bed and surroundings of Saulak brook that flows through Pezinok in an approximately 4.5 km stretch. They collected around 700 kg of rubbish. The project was realized in partnership with Slovak Water Management Enterprise, s.e. Šamorín. Local entrepreneurs provided organizational, material and services support for it.
• PROJECTS UNITING THE COMMUNITY
Christmas bazaar and live Christmas astronomical clock
REVIA foundation directed the realisation of a live Christmas astronomical clock with volunteers in a bow window of the Old Town Hall. Tasty treats prepared and offered by volunteers from Pezinok’s institutions in a “charity bazaar” brought proceeds of 9 300 SKK / € 309 that are to be used for projects supporting families as the year 2008 was pronounced to be “The Year Friendly to a Family”.
62 900 SKK / € 2.088 were received for charitable aims by realization of 5 Christmas bazaars and astronomical clocks so far.
Campaign The day of Smile / The Day of Good-heartedness / The Day of Volunteers
There was a friendly greeting or thanking for providing help and support to others and to the foundation itself communicated via email in connection with the above mentioned world days.
• PROJECTS TO PROMOTE VOLUNTEERING
Development of volunteering
Activities of REVIA are realized thanks to involvement of many volunteers (around 250) from elementary schools, non-governmental organizations or region’s individuals. Volunteers are also members of the administrative board (7), the investment, grant and marketing committee (8) and consultants (18).
• PROJECTS TO ENCOURAGE EDUCATION
Young Philanthropists project - Youth bank
The project mobilizes and involves inactive young people into volunteer activities in the region. 6 youth projects in the sum of 62 000 SKK / € 2.058 were supported by the youth grant committee “Filfriends” thanks to the support of the SPP Foundation in 2008.
In the four years of the project’s existence, 30 young philanthropists assisted realisation of 42 projects in the sum of 378 000 SKK / € 12.547.
Multicentre - EU project
This is an educational project aimed at local tourism development realized by the town of Modra in partnership with REVIA Foundation and co-funded from European Social Fund.
The project trained around 60 inhabitants through both traditional and e-learning courses. The outcome of the project was also a brochure “Marketing of the Town of Modra: Much Music for Little Money” – inspirations for tourism of the town of Modra.

- Service for donors – development of donation policy of firms by managing foundation’s funds
- Service for non-governmental organizations – establishment of a civil society association, registration of recipients of 2% of taxes, consultation of different kind

Communication with the public
Partnership with the Club of Entrepreneurs of the City of Pezinok, local media and the TOP Centre of Ladies-Entrepreneurs and Ladies-Managers of Slovakia was manifested on various levels. Pursuing development of mutual relationships we realized many activities and informed the public about them.
Communication with the Association of Community Foundations of Slovakia
The mutual communication with the Association continued also in 2008 with realization of several projects in which we took the role of partners to large corporations seeking after financial aid for particular regions in which we operate.
Communication with non-governmental organizations from Slovakia and from abroad
REVIA cooperates with organizations of similar focus of activity not only within Slovakia but also from abroad, of which evidence can be seen in several meetings with non-governmental organizations’ representatives and in presentation of the organization.
